Our Story
A café built on
community & craft
I spent years flying in the Northwest Territories, where the winters were brutal and good coffee was basically a myth. So I started roasting my own — in my bathroom, the only room with enough ventilation to get away with it at -40°. What began as a workaround became an obsession, and after more than ten years of roasting and growing with Fernwood Coffee I eventually found myself with something I never quite planned for: a café of my own. You never know the direction life will take you.
Little June found its home in Fernwood Square — a neighbourhood with real history, real character, and the kind of tight-knit community you usually only find in a small town. We're in a building the Parfitt brothers built over 110 years ago, and we try to honour that by doing things properly: everything made in-house, ingredients from farms we know by name, coffee roasted just down the road.
Come for breakfast. Stay for lunch. There's always room.
